'My strikers can't score!' Chelsea boss Mourinho caught criticising Torres and questioning Eto'o's age on French TV

Jose Mourinho arrived in Istanbul on Monday night livid that remarks he made in a private conversation which undermine his strikers had been secretly filmed and broadcast.
Mourinho was caught in conversation with the boss of Swiss watch-makers Hublot, explaining that Chelsea did not have anyone to score goals.
He joked that Samuel Eto’o was probably older than 32 and hinted that an ideal solution may be to sign Radamel Falcao because the Colombian deserved a bigger audience than he had at Monaco.

‘The problem with Chelsea is I lack a scorer,’ said  Mourinho (right), speaking in French. ‘I have Eto’o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?’
On Falcao, signed from Atletico Madrid for £50million last year and understood to be among Chelsea’s top targets, he added: ‘I need a striker. Falcao needs a club. A player like him cannot play in front of 3,000 people. Monaco is a club to end (your career with).’
The inference is clear for Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba ahead of Wednesday's last-16 Champions League first leg against Galatasaray.
The conversation was recorded by French broadcasters Canal+ in Switzerland on February 17 and appeared as a video clip on their website. It has since been removed but Mourinho’s words had already been well circulated, much to his embarrassment.
The incident has darkened his mood on the eve of a reunion with Didier Drogba, the Galatasaray striker and Chelsea legend of the first Mourinho era. Drogba left Stamford Bridge in 2012 and the club have yet to replace his immense presence.

Galatasaray have already expressed a desire to keep him in Istanbul beyond this summer but Drogba, who turns 36 next month, says his passion for Chelsea remains undiminished and he has not ruled out a return if he receives an offer when he becomes a free agent in June.
When asked during an interview with Sportsmail if he could come back to the Premier League, Drogba said: ‘If, and I say if, by any chance it could happen, it would only be with one team.
‘My contract ends this summer and then I will decide what is the best solution for me. But I had a great time at Chelsea and if Jose was saying, “Didier, I want you to come back”, I would think about it.’

Neymar takes to Instagram to show off rippling body alongside Alves and Adriano

Barcelona may be stuttering in the Spanish title race but Neymar can't resist showing off his body after a training session in the gym.
He posted a picture on his Instagram alongside fellow Brazilians Dani Alves and Adriano.
The Brazilian 22-year-old has taken criticism that he needs to build up his strength to reach the peak of European football.

Ronaldo, for instance, stands out from nearly all other players because of his athletic ability and determination on the training ground and gym.
Neymar is also having to deal with a the transfer saga with has been threatening to disrupt the Spanish champion's performances on the pitch.
His transfer from Santos last June has led authorities to charge Barcelona with tax fraud as the price of the deal has ballooned from £48.6m to £71.2m, after payments to the player and his family.
'I hope it doesn't affect the team,' midfielder Andres Iniesta was quoted as saying Tuesday from a sponsor's event. 'It's not good for the team or for him, all of this talk of things besides football.'

Barcelona followed up its Champions League win at Manchester City with a disappointing 3-1 loss at Real Sociedad and there are questions whether the off-field circus accompanying perhaps world football's most expensive transfer is affecting the squad.
'We can just hope that all of the noise surrounding Neymar's case doesn't last long,' Iniesta said. 'His spirits are up. The most positive thing we can do is talk about our football.'
But even that hasn't been all too encouraging despite the 2-0 win at City one week ago.

Coach Gerardo Martino has guided the team into the Copa del Rey final and it only trails Real Madrid by three points in the La Liga standings. Yet, erratic play continues to follow the Argentine coach, who is finding it tough convincing the Catalan club in the follow-up to the Pep Guardiola-Tito Vilanova era.
'We're all responsible for our results,' Iniesta said. '(Sociedad) was a tough loss, but we'll fight to the death for our coach. There's no doubt there.'
Barcelona welcomes bottom-table Almeria on Sunday to its Camp Nou Stadium, which has also seen attendance dip this season.

Olympiacos. Not Bayern Munich or Barcelona. Olympiacos. Not master coach Pep Guardiola. Michel. Not Lionel Messi. Alejandro Dominguez.
And not down to 10 men either. Unlike Arsenal and Manchester City last week, Manchester United had their full complement on the field. It just didn’t look like it.
They contrived to lose, not to giants, but to one of the also-rans of the competition. Olympiacos are not potential winners.
Chances are they will be removed in the quarter-finals by the first good team they play, if they manage to survive the return leg at Old Trafford. The odds must favour them now.
United pulled the plum tie out of the Champions League draw — and then choked on it.
This may well be the worst performance of David Moyes’s brief time as United manager, the one that really will cause questions to be asked about his suitability.

*Ratings from Chris Wheeler at the Karaiskakis Stadium
There are some contenders, obviously. Yet United looked so ordinary, so lifeless, so devoid of ambition and desire against the Greek champions that there may well soon be a tipping point.
‘Can they score? They always score.’ Those were the words that summed up the old United. Here they did not even manage a shot on target, let alone a goal.
Until now, the performances in Europe have been the saving grace for Moyes. Emphatic against Bayer Leverkusen, gutsy in Donetsk.
This, however, was the kind of display that gets a manager the sack — one that brings into dispute matters of selection, direction and inspiration.
Until Tuesday night, Manchester United were the only team in the tournament who had not trailed in any match. Hard to believe on this evidence.
The defensive reaction for both goals revealed a lethargy that would have mystified heroes past. Maybe television analyst Roy Keane should have delivered the half-time team talk. Or played.

This was a United seldom seen. Timid, inadequate, uninspired. They were not unfortunate or hard done by.

THEY'VE DONE IT BEFORE...

Manchester United last overturned a two goal deficit from a first leg in 1984, versus Barcelona in the Cup Winners’ Cup.
There were no excuses left by the end. Moyes picked what he considered a team to get a result and watched lamely as it was undone by supposed inferiors.
The goals came from Dominguez, an Argentine without a senior cap to his name, and Joel Campbell, an Arsenal loanee whom Arsene Wenger has shown scant inclination to take back.

We were robbed! Wenger accuses Robben of diving... and did Dutchman spit at Sagna? Or is it just sweat falling from his chin?

Arsene Wenger accused Arjen Robben of diving to get Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny sent off, which led to a 2-0 defeat by Bayern Munich.
The Arsenal manager was seen making a diving gesture following the incident and did not mince his words after the clash, also claiming that other Bayern players had deceived referee Nicola Rizzoli.
He said: ‘The keeper touched him, but I told Robben he made more of it and it changed the game.
‘It doesn’t just change the game, it kills the game. It was a top quality game and in the second half it was one-way traffic.’

Robben went down under a challenge from the Polish keeper, who received a straight red card. Wenger gestured with his hands to imply that Robben went down on purpose to win the penalty. David Alaba missed the spot kick but 10-man Arsenal were unable to hold out and went down to second-half goals from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller.
Mesut Ozil also missed with a penalty for the Gunners.
To make metters worse on a miserable night for Arsenal, Szczesny is facing a UEFA probe after making a rude gesture following his sending-off.

Wenger added: ‘Robben has enough experience to make more of it. They made the most of every contact and we are not used to it. We are not used to it in England. We are not used to that in the Premier League.
‘But we have to get used to it and accept it.
‘I am not a good referee, the regret I have is that it is a decision that he made.
‘Wojciech misjudged the situation and there was no clear opportunity. You sit there and you cannot bring anyone on. I feel frustrated a bit as it was a great football game until half time. After there was no game.’

The penalty was just one of a several flash points during the encounter - both on and off the field.
The world of Twitter erupted after videos of Robben emerged with the Bayern Munich winger appearing to spit in Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna's hair.
But was it just sweat falling from Robben's chin during the Champions League last 16 match at the Emirates?
As Sagna lies face down on the grass, the former Chelsea player hovers around the floored full back and seems to show concern for his opponent, tapping him on the back twice and helping him to his feet.

Yet a globule of liquid falls from Robben's face and seems to land in Sagna's hair.
Originally, the camera angle is inconclusive. Yet further footage suggests that it is in fact perspiration which falls onto Sagna.
With no history of spitting, it would be out of character for a player who is popular among his peers.

Also, Ozil and Mathieu Flamini were involved in a heated row on the pitch, with the Frenchman seemingly upset at the £42million man’s lack of tracking back.
Wenger admitted that the penalty miss affected the German, saying: ‘Ozil’s head dropped. He wanted to do so well tonight.
‘Five or 10 minutes later on the pitch he was still shaking his head. Our usual penalty takers were not not on the pitch, it was down to Ozil, Cazorla and Sagna and Cazorla had missed recently.
